Anaesthetic agent as an analgesic agent?

Loss of awareness and pain control are typically considered separate issues. For example, you can put someone to sleep with a benzodiazepine, but it won't do anything for pain control. The current inhalational general anesthetics, including halothane I believe, typically cover all the bases (sedation, analgesia, amnesia, and--except for nitrous oxide--muscle relaxation). I would choose C.
