People who don't pay attention while they walk, are you one of them?

When I'm walking about, say to the supermarket, I force myself to look at the ground to see any obstacles while walking, other than that, if I let myself wander inside my head, I suddenly could find myself twisting an ankle over a bump, or be bruised by some nasty thing on the ground. I happen to live in a place where supermarkets are crappy, but still, when I have a lot on my head, like an exam, I walk to the sky, so to speak, eager to get home, or get to the coffee shop to study. Problem is every year I suffer a very minor injury because of this (scrape, cut, bruised foot), while I'm the only one around with this problem, it seems. Does this happen to you ? I feel guilty because I 'am this way, but I describe myself, I concluded, as an energetic girl with a lot on her mind. That's the main problem, slowing down my head while walking, rather than having walking stimulate my thoughts even further that I don't pay attention any more. I usually remove all clutter from my apartment because I know I'd trip on things when my brain starts working. Advice please, I want to stop this cycle of misfortunate events :) Thanks.
