Can I take imodium before general anaesthetic?

I'm having a minor surgical procedure tomorrow morning, and have been advised not to eat or drink from midnight tonight, I'm very nervous about the procedure which can react badly on my bowels (joys of IBS), I was wondering if I took a dose of Imodium just to calm my bowels down before midnight tonight, is that allowed?
