Routes to become an anaesthetist...?

I'm currently working as an adult nurse in theatres at my local hospital. I have experience in critical care, recovery, as a scrub nurse and in the anaesthetic room and was wondering if there's any way to become an actual anaesthetist without having to go through 5 years of medicine - something which would be great but I just can't justify financially as I have a young family. Any suggestions?
