In the ipod app Turtle Fly, how for to the right do you have to fly to get the new animal?

I've flown to mars and everything it said to get the new animal I have to fly to the right a certain distance to get the newly discovered animal. The first time I did it I was flying and it said I found a penguin or something then when it closed I crashed. And when I went back to the menu I didn't have the new animal. So i did it again but I'm not getting it. I've flown for like 2 minutes and 25 seconds and I stayed under 50 feet. I was just wondering how far do I have to fly to get it.
