I bought something on iTunes, then I re-installed OSX, and I lost it. Can I re download for free?

Okay, I bought something on iTunes, then I had a bunch of cluttered programs on my computer, so I put in the installation disk, and reset it. Well now, I lost the download. So can I re-download the thing I lost for free?
